Grandparents Day

We enjoyed a wonderful day with our Grandparents.  It was important for Room 11 to acknowledge that not everyone's grandparents could visit us, so we brought in photos of our grandparents that lived too far away to spend the day with us.  That way we could think of them and include them in the activities we undertook.

We began by introducing ourselves and our grandparents in Te Reo.

Our warm up was a 'Who Am I?' activity as we demonstrated to our parents what is means to be unique.  We had a lot of fun and some of us had to be very brave and talk to people we did not know to find the answers to questions.

We then complete a Venn Diagram to find out what was different and what was the same between ourselves and our grandparents.

Lunch was a picnic under the teepee.  Then the grandparents stayed to read us a story before coming to assembly with us.

Thank you grandparents.  We had a great day!

  1. Thank you Campbell and Room 11. You made us feel very welcome and we loved meeting Campbell's classmates, teacher, Ms Sholson and the other grandparents. You have a wonderful class and we were very proud of you, Campbell. We will follow you through this blog with interest. Granddad and Nana.
