Room 9 Visits the Science Fair

I liked how Daniel put a charger into the telephone and he how he charged it using the sun.
Xavier

I liked how Emma got some fruit and plugged electric wires into the fruit.  The fruit turned electric.
Ava

I liked how Chris used a bottle and filled it up half way with water.  When he dropped a cylinder tube into it, it fired upwards.
Nathan

I liked how Matthew got plastic bags and Gladwrap and found out how much brown the fruit got on it.
Abby

I liked how Toby tried Fanta, Sprite and Coke.  He put a string in the drinks and you could see which one floated.
Lennox

I liked how Lydia treated dried red wine stain and pasta sauce stain with vinegar and other stuff to see which one came out first.
Hanna

I liked how Kris made a type of mouse trap with a sensor that fell down when the mouse went into the box.

Building up to Agriculture Day

Clevedon School is beginning the build up to Agriculture Day.  In Room 9 we are really getting in on the act.  We are raising nine chickens and have planted a seed potato to enter in the 100th anniversary of the Clevedon A and P Show which will be held just after Agriculture Day.  If you are wanting to know what happens at Agriculture Day or what to do to get ready for Agriculture Day please visit the Clevedon School website and click on the link to Agriculture Day.

Digital Citizenship Week

We spent last week learning how to be safe when we are using the internet.  We learnt about what it means to be a good citizen.  We are enjoying having all our new digital equipment and know we have to look after it and use it properly.

Room 9 gets chickens!

Room 9 now has 9 chickens that we are raising for Agriculture Day.  They are getting bigger every day.  Seniors come into class before school and at lunch time to look after them and to teach them to perch.  We love our chickens very much, but they are very smelly!  Ms Sholson has designed a chicken coop which we hope to get built so that we can keep them at school permanently.

We are being creative with our weaving!

Our virtue for the last two weeks was creativity.  This has linked very well with our Arts rotation as we are learning to weave.  We hope to make some very creative wall hangings and pencil holders.  We will keep you updated on our progress!
